We’re squeezing out the last bit of summer before pumpkin spice and haunted houses take over everyone’s weekend agendas. (Well…we’re kind of looking forward to the haunted stuff, can’t lie.) Nonetheless, we’re enjoying all the final summer festivals, events, and weekend-long parties while we still can! Take a look at what August’s end has in store for us before we exchange them for the fruit of Fall and Winter concerts and events.

The Milestone plans to spend Friday night, August 28, with rock ‘n’ roll “power-pop” group The Cry, alternative collection The Fill Ins, and Careless Romantic, while Southern hip hop MC Big Smo takes over Amos’ Southend along with Haden Carpender and DJ Orig. The Seduction is joined by Green Fiend, DSR and Jaggermouth at Snug Harbor, and Social Distortion stops by The Fillmore. Also on Friday evening, four-piece blues and rock fusion The Hazlegroves will be at Double Door Inn; Tremont Music Hall hosts a group of local favorites including Charlotte hard rock bands Fiftywatt Freight Train and Deep Sky along with NC rock band A Course of Action; South Carolina singer/songwriter Patrick Davis can be found at The Evening Muse; and The Sylvia Theatre brings back Ricky Vacca along with Dave Huberman, Steve Simpson and Paul Finnican. In the Triangle area, Carolina Theatre delivers Iris Dement Friday night.
