What’s New This Week
for the week of August 21, 2015
From local traditions, to up-and-coming customs, it’s no secret to those who are familiar with the Charlotte music scene that diversity is an understatement. If you’re new to the area or new to the music scene itself, this is a perfect framework of exposure to immerse yourself in the Queen City and all her creative culture.
With that being said, there’s still a lot of familiarity this week for those of us who’ve been around long enough. For instance, the epic cover bands that come through every so often, one of which will be at Amos’ Southend Friday night, August 21. Whitesnake tribute crew, Still of the Night, will be there to take us down a rock ‘n’ roll memory lane, so be sure to show up and prepare to throw back. Also on Friday night, the blues-inspired Rob Ickes teams up with country roots inspired Trey Hensley at The Evening Muse followed up by NoDa’s latest dance party, Dance Box Sessions, featuring the best classic and Top 40 music. Tremont Music Hall hosts some good old rock ‘n’ roll including Triton, Red Eyed Romance, Meliora, Mon Abyss, Fifty Flies and musical landscape traveler Jimmy Thackery graces us with his presence at Double Door Inn.
