What’s New This Week
for the week of November 20, 2015

With the holidays literally around the corner and 2015 reaching its expiration, it’s officially that time of year where you receive more invites, e-vites and obligatory attendance hits peak season. Though there will be plenty of holiday-inspired shows and events to come in the following weeks, sometimes you just want to go to a good old fashioned rock ‘n’ roll show. Grab a beer and ignore the stress-induced festiveness this time of year brings. We can’t get you out of family reunions and dinners, but we’ve got you covered in the drink and live music department.
Neighbors of the Queen City have the right idea this Friday, November 20, with an array of throwback music. You can check out the Michael Jackson tribute band, Who’s Bad, at Columbia’s Music Farm, the Elton John and Billy Joel tribute, Face 2 Face, at Raleigh’s hot spot The Ritz Raleigh, or co-creator and former writer of “The Daily Show,” Lizz Winstead, at Cat’s Cradle. Also in the Raleigh/Durham area Friday night, Carolina Theatre’s Carolina Theatre Films presents another version of Retrotreasures for your viewing pleasure.
