What’s New This Week

for the week of December 4, 2015

Christmas Town USAThere’s officially less than four weeks left of 2015, but you can better believe, among the holiday parties and ugly Christmas sweaters, Charlotte still maintains what it does best– live entertainment. This week is no different, kicking off the first week of December with plenty of musical options. mysteriarch(Michael)

Around town Sunday, December 6, we’ve got Ballantyne School of Music’s Winter Jam 2015 at Amos’, Nipsey Hussle at The Fillmore; the lively and unique singer/songwriters Jonny Lang and Dwan Hill at Neighborhood Theatre; unwind with some black metal at Tremont courtesy of Scytherlum, Mysteriarch, Rites to Sedition and Engulfed In Blackness; and everyone’s favorite karaoke night, Bone Snugs-N-Harmony at Snug Harbor. Elsewhere Sunday night, relax with The Charlotte Blues Society at Double Door Inn for their annual Christmas party featuring The King Bees. Further north, check out the emo-pop crew that draws influence from the likes of Pink Floyd and U2, The Academy Is… at Cat’s Cradle along with Party Baby, and Home Free at Carolina Theatre.

Monday night, December 7, once again never fails to let us down when it comes to resident fixtures. Check out Snug Harbor’s hip hop resident Knocturnal, Double Door Inn’s weekly variety show The Monday Night Allstars, and The Evening Muse’s spotlight night Find Your Muse Open Mic Night featuring NC punk band, Dollar Signs this week. Tuesday, December 8, lends to a bit of a fresher pallet. Featured Tuesday night are Mac Miller at The Fillmore, Bill Hanna Jazz Jam at Double Door Inn, and Big K.R.I.T. down in Columbia at The Music Farm.
